The murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi has taken a new turn with the revelation that his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, made over 100 phone calls to a man named Sanjay Verma before their marriage. However, it was later discovered that Verma was actually an alias used by her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha.
Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore businessman, was brutally murdered in Sohra, Meghalaya last month by three hitmen sent by Kushwaha in the presence of Sonam. All five individuals involved in the crime have been arrested and the police were able to recreate the crime scene on June 17.
According to East Khasi Hills district SP Vivek Syiem, Sonam continued to make phone calls to “Sanjay Verma” even after her marriage to Raja. The police launched a search operation in Indore to locate Verma, only to discover that he was actually Kushwaha, the mastermind behind the murder.
A team of the Special Investigation Team is currently in Indore investigating any potential financial motives behind Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder. It has been revealed that the hitmen made three failed attempts before successfully killing Raghuvanshi in Sohra.
Despite being the mastermind, Kushwaha did not physically come to Meghalaya to avoid suspicion. He is reportedly an employee of the company owned by Sonam’s family. The couple had gotten married on May 11 in Indore and traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 20.
Raghuvanshi and Sonam went missing on May 23 in Sohra, before Raghuvanshi’s decomposed body was discovered on June 2. Sonam fled the state after the murder, traveling through Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, and UP. She left behind her mangalsutra and a ring at a homestay in Sohra, raising suspicions about her involvement in the crime.
