Agartala, Tripura: In a significant breakthrough, police of NCC Police Station recovered three stolen motorcycles and arrested six accused in connection with a bike theft case reported from the Nehru Park area of Agartala.
According to police sources, the incident came to light following a complaint lodged by Shib Shankar Roy, whose motorcycle was stolen from the area adjacent to Nehru Park. Acting on the complaint, NCC police launched an investigation and identified an auto-rickshaw suspected to be involved in the theft.
After arresting the owner of the auto-rickshaw and conducting sustained interrogation, police were able to trace a wider theft network. As a result, three stolen motorcycles were recovered and six bike thieves were arrested.
Speaking to the media at NCC Police Station on Saturday, Officer-in-Charge Prajit Malakar confirmed the arrests and recoveries. He stated that further investigation is underway to determine the involvement of the accused in other theft cases across the city.
Police officials said such operations will continue to curb vehicle theft and maintain law and order in Agartala.
