Agartala, Tripura: Acting on the joint call of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), All India Youth Federation (AIYF) and All India Students’ Federation (AISF), a protest demonstration was held at the Krishnanagar Junu Das Bhavan premises in Agartala.
The protesters demanded justice in the murder case of Tripura’s meritorious student Angel Chakma, who was killed in Dehradun. They called for a fair and speedy investigation and sought strict punishment for all those involved in the crime. Speakers at the protest expressed serious concern over the safety of students studying outside the state and urged authorities to ensure accountability.
Simultaneously, under the banner of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), another protest was organised demanding the withdrawal of the proposed VB-G Ramji Act and opposing the scrapping of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). The demonstrators stated that the repeal of MNREGA would severely affect rural livelihoods and employment security.
The protest concluded with slogans demanding justice, protection of democratic rights, and safeguarding the interests of students, workers, and rural communities.
