Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hailed nursing as the “backbone of the healthcare system” while addressing an event on International Nurses Day.
Speaking at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the CM emphasized that the state government is committed to uplifting the nursing community in Tripura.
“We are improving infrastructure, ensuring timely recruitment, offering modern training, and maintaining dignity for nurses,” he said.
A Tribute to Florence Nightingale
The event, jointly hosted by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Tripura Nursing Council, saw Dr. Saha offering floral tributes to Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing.
Nurses, he said, are essential not only for recovery but also for emotional strength and patient safety.
“Nurses work selflessly to protect the needs of every patient,” he noted.
Tripura Nurses Gaining National Fame
Dr. Saha highlighted that nurses from Tripura are gaining recognition beyond the state, joining the ranks of respected professionals from South India and Manipur.
“Tripura’s nursing talent is now recognized nationally,” he proudly added.
