Agartala, Tripura: The Online Home Delivery Workers’ Association organised a candlelight march in Agartala and submitted a memorandum to the Director General of Police at the Police Headquarters, demanding justice in connection with the tragic death of Prasenjit Sarkar of Dharmanagar.
Holding candles and raising slogans, delivery workers marched peacefully to draw attention to the incident and to highlight concerns over the safety and social security of online delivery personnel across the state. The association stated that the programme was organised to seek justice for Prasenjit Sarkar and to ensure accountability.
Speaking to the media, association members demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for Prasenjit Sarkar’s death and called for exemplary punishment for the accused. They also urged the state authorities to introduce stronger social security measures and safety protections for online delivery workers, who often work under risky conditions.
The memorandum submitted to the police chief emphasized the need for swift and transparent investigation, along with long-term policy measures to safeguard the rights and lives of delivery workers in Tripura.
