Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 10th edition of the NITI Aayog’s Governing Council meeting, emphasized the importance of states and the Centre working together to achieve development goals for the country. Modi expressed that if the government and states collaborate effectively, no goal is impossible to achieve.
The theme of this edition of the Governing Council meeting was ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047’, highlighting the goal of developing every state to ultimately develop the entire nation. Modi stated that when every state is developed, India as a whole will progress. He stressed the need for rapid urbanization and the importance of creating future-ready cities that focus on growth, innovation, and sustainability.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of inclusion of women in the workforce and the need for laws and policies that support their integration. Modi emphasized that policies implemented should bring about tangible changes in the lives of common people, stating that only when people feel the change, it can strengthen and transform into a movement.
Modi urged the Governing Council to focus on the goal of making India developed by 2047, with each state, city, municipality, and village contributing to this vision. He stated that if efforts are collectively made in this direction, India can achieve development well before the set target of 2047.
The Governing Council meeting, which includes all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers, serves as the apex body of NITI Aayog. Prime Minister Modi, who chairs the council, held this meeting following Operation Sindoor, marking a significant step towards collaborative development efforts between the Centre and states.
