East Agartala Police Station have solved two separate theft cases and arrested multiple accused persons, successfully recovering stolen household items and gold ornaments.According to police, on Monday at around 2 PM, Moumita Debbarma was having lunch in the dining room of her residence at Palace Compound when a thief entered the house and stole several valuable items, including a table fan. After a complaint was lodged, police analyzed CCTV footage and identified the accused. Kulai resident Suraj Debbarma was detained, and the stolen items were later recovered from the Katakhal area. The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to two days of police custody.In another case, gold ornaments were stolen from a house in the Nayanniamura area. The house owner, Bapan Pal, reported that two painters had worked at his residence for four days earlier this month. On January 16, while preparing for a family wedding, the family discovered that the gold ornaments were missing. Following the complaint, police detained two suspects, identified as Sanjay Sharma and Pratap Das, both residents of Charipara. During interrogation, the stolen gold ornaments were recovered from a jewellery shop. The shop owner, Bimal Rudra Pal, was also arrested in connection with the case.
