As part of the ongoing Police Week celebrations, a friendly cricket match was organized today between Tripura Police and the Agartala Press Club at the Police Training Academy (PTA) ground in Narsingarh. The event served as a platform to strengthen the bond between the law enforcement agency and the media fraternity through the spirit of sportsmanship.
The match was formally inaugurated by the Director General of Tripura Police (DGP), Shri Anurag (IPS), alongside Agartala Press Club President Pranab Sarkar, Joint Secretary Abhishek Dey, and other senior officials.
Match Highlights: Low-Scoring Thriller
The match, reduced to a 16-over format, saw a competitive display from both sides:
- Press Club’s Innings: Opting to bat first, the Agartala Press Club struggled against a disciplined Tripura Police bowling attack. They managed to score 62 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 16 overs.
- The Chase: Chasing a modest target of 63, the Tripura Police team showed clinical composure. They reached the winning target in just 10.4 overs, losing only 4 wickets in the process, thereby securing a comfortable victory.
Grand Presentation Ceremony
The post-match award ceremony was graced by high-profile dignitaries, reflecting the importance of the event. The guests included:
