Kolkata witnessed a celebration of positivity as Malay Pit, the founder of Positive Barta, was honored with the “IBR Achiever” title by the India Book of Records (IBR) at a ceremony held at the Press Club, Kolkata. This recognition highlights Pit’s significant contributions to media and society through his dedication to spreading optimistic news.
The award, presented by former Chairman of the State Law Commission, Justice Pranab Kumar Chatterjee, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, marks a milestone for Positive Barta. The platform, which began as a digital initiative, aims to counterbalance negative news with stories of hope, innovation, and community development.
Malay Pit, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of fostering optimism. He stated that Positive Barta seeks to “revive and nurture the inner optimism of individuals” by showcasing constructive news and real-life stories of positive change. He also highlighted the significance of exposing children to positive narratives from a young age, believing that it will shape them into “torchbearers of a better world.”
Positive Barta has expanded its reach from digital platforms like Facebook and YouTube to cable networks, and plans are underway for a satellite launch in the coming year. The platform collaborates with over 200 digital channels and journalists across West Bengal and Tripura, sharing uplifting stories.
An innovative aspect of Positive Barta is its Call to Action (CTA) campaign, which offers promotional support to individuals and institutions in sectors such as healthcare, education, and rural empowerment, fostering both positivity and economic benefits. The platform also intends to integrate Artificial Intelligence into its satellite broadcasting to showcase Indian culture and values globally.
The IBR recognition underscores Positive Barta’s growing influence and commitment to creating a more hopeful society.
