During the winter season, especially around Poush Sankranti or Makar Sankranti, the traditional Pitha Puli Festival is organised at Alpana Village, celebrating Tripura’s rich culinary and cultural heritage. In this connection, a preparatory meeting was held on Friday at the Municipal Corporation hall to review arrangements for the upcoming festival.
The meeting was chaired by Agartala Mayor Deepak Majumdar. Also present were West District-in-Charge and Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Bishwajit Shil, along with other officials and representatives associated with the event.
Discussions focused on logistics, infrastructure, cleanliness, crowd management, and the overall coordination required to ensure the smooth and successful organisation of the festival. The participants stressed the importance of preserving traditional customs while providing a welcoming experience for visitors.
The Pitha Puli Festival attracts large numbers of people every year and plays a significant role in promoting local traditions and seasonal delicacies.
