The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is leading a series of high-level meetings in Delhi today to address the security situation following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. This marks the first Union Cabinet meeting since the tragic incident on April 22, in which 26 individuals lost their lives.
In addition to the Union Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Modi is also convening discussions with the Cabinet Committee on Security, defence chiefs, and the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. These meetings are crucial in assessing the current security landscape and formulating a comprehensive response to the terrorist threat.
Prime Minister Modi has expressed unwavering support for the Indian armed forces, granting them full operational freedom to determine the best course of action in responding to the attack. He emphasized India’s determination to combat terrorism and assured the nation that decisive measures will be taken to address the threat.
Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated, with Pakistan claiming to have received “credible intelligence” suggesting that India is planning a military strike against them within the next 24 to 36 hours. In response, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar accused India of making baseless allegations and warned of consequences if such actions were taken.
The situation remains tense as both countries navigate diplomatic challenges and security concerns. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership during this critical time will be crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the nation, while also maintaining regional stability.
