Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the state of Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate the newly completed beautification and reconstruction works at the historic Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Gomati district.
The Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, which is considered one of the holiest sites in Eastern India, has undergone a major facelift under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme. This project, which was initiated after the BJP government came into power in the state, has now reached its final stages of completion.
The Central government allocated around Rs 38 crore for the renovation of the temple under the PRASAD scheme, with an additional contribution of Rs 7 crore from the State Government. The project aims to enhance the spiritual tourism sector and strengthen Tripura’s position as a growing tourist destination.
To ensure that everything is in order ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, top officials such as Chief Secretary Kiran Gitte, Principal Secretary Abhishek Singh, DGP Anurag, IG (Law & Order) Manchak Ipper, Tourism Secretary U.K. Chakma, and other senior officers visited the temple on Saturday to review preparations.
The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to bring attention to the newly renovated Mata Tripura Sundari Temple and boost tourism in the region. It is a significant step towards showcasing the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Tripura to the rest of the country.
