The Tripura Government has taken a significant step towards empowering talented students by strengthening their path to higher education through the CM-SATH (Chief Minister’s Scholarship for Achievers Toward Higher Learning) initiative. The project aims to provide financial support to outstanding meritorious students studying in government and government-aided schools, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic aspirations.
For the 2024–25 financial year, a total of 200 students have been awarded scholarships under the CM-SATH scheme. These awardees were selected from the merit list of the 2023 Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) board examinations.
The scholarship distribution is as follows:
• 100 students from the Madhyamik Board Merit List
• 100 students from the Higher Secondary Board Merit List
Each selected student receives a scholarship of Rs. 60,000, aimed at reducing financial barriers, boosting confidence, and helping students pursue higher education smoothly and successfully.
To qualify, students must:
• Be permanent residents of Tripura
• Have passed the final board examinations from any government or government-aided school in Tripura
Eligible candidates include meritorious students from Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations conducted by TBSE (Tripura Board of Secondary Education) and CBSE, including schools under Vidyajyoti Scheme.
One of the unique and inclusive features of the CM-SATH scheme is its equitable representation policy. Rather than selecting students from only one region or school, scholarship recipients were chosen based on population distribution from various parts of the state to ensure fair representation across all districts.
Scholarship distribution by administrative division:
• From Block level: 76 students
• From Nagar Panchayat areas: 6 students
• From Municipal Council areas: 13 students
• From Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC): 5 students
In cases where multiple students secured identical marks, the following priority rules were applied:
1️⃣ First priority to girl students
2️⃣ Next priority to younger students
The Directorate of Secondary Education compiled the final list of 200 beneficiaries after collecting verified information through District Education Offices (DEOs). The scholarship disbursement process is being managed transparently through the BMS portal.
This visionary initiative by the Tripura Government not only reduces financial stress for students from humble backgrounds but also promotes inclusive excellence, equal opportunity, and encourages academic ambition across the state.
The CM-SATH scholarship stands as a bridge between merit and opportunity—strengthening the state’s commitment to nurturing future scholars, leaders, and change-makers.
