Another shocking theft has rocked Gokulnagar as a gang of thieves, known as the Nishi Kutumb, targeted the revered Kali Temple at Pandit Chowmuhani. The incident took place late Saturday night, spreading panic and fear throughout the entire locality.
According to local sources, the thieves broke the temple’s locks and attempted to flee with the donation box (pranami box). Fortunately, their attempt was noticed early Sunday morning when devotees arrived at the temple and discovered the broken locks and signs of forced entry. The news quickly spread across the area, heightening the sense of insecurity among residents.
For the past several days, Gokulnagar has been witnessing an alarming rise in theft and burglary cases. Just recently, a daring robbery took place at the residence of a TSR (Tripura State Rifles) jawan and a local household, leaving the community in shock. These repeated incidents have left the residents of Gokulnagar living in constant fear, as the thieves seem to be operating without any restraint.
Despite the growing number of thefts, Bishalgarh police have yet to make any arrests or detain suspects involved in these criminal activities. The local community is urging law enforcement to act swiftly and decisively to restore safety and prevent further attacks on sacred sites and private homes alike.
Residents are now demanding heightened patrolling and security measures to protect both public and private properties in Gokulnagar, as fear of more thefts looms large.
