The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Tripura State Committee submitted a representative deputation to the Director of the OBC Welfare Department today, urging the immediate release of pending scholarships for OBC students for the academic year 2024–25.
SFI leaders stated that thousands of students are facing academic and financial hardship due to the delay in scholarship disbursement. They emphasized that timely release of funds is essential to prevent disruptions in education, especially for students from economically weaker sections.
The deputation highlighted the need for transparent processing, faster verification, and strict timelines in the scholarship distribution system. SFI representatives warned that continued delays may lead to intensified democratic movements across the state.
Officials of the OBC Welfare Department assured that the matter would be reviewed and necessary actions would be taken at the earliest.
