Residents of Shrinathpur village in Tripura have been facing a crisis of drinking water for the past nine months, finally leading them to block the road in protest.
According to reports, for the past nine months, residents of Shrinathpur village in a part of the local municipality have been suffering from a severe shortage of drinking water. Despite repeated attempts to contact the authorities and the local municipality, no solution has been provided. Even the mosque in the area is facing a water crisis, causing water tanks to run dry. The people in the area are now relying solely on contaminated pond and canal water for their survival.
In addition to this, serious allegations have been made against a local contractor by the villagers. Therefore, in a desperate attempt to demand a proper supply of drinking water, the villagers have blocked the road. As a result of this roadblock, the normal life of the common people has been disrupted. Many vehicles and school-going students are stranded due to this blockade.
