Udaipur, Tripura | March 26, 2025:
In a strong message against illegal immigration, the Additional Sessions Judge Court in Tripura’s Gomati district has convicted six Bangladeshi nationals for illegally entering Indian territory without proper documentation.
The court sentenced each individual to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 under Section 14(A) of the Foreigners Act, 1946. Failure to pay the fine will result in additional imprisonment, as per court procedures.
The verdict highlights the Tripura judiciary’s uncompromising approach towards maintaining border integrity and national security, especially amid growing concerns over unauthorized cross-border movements from Bangladesh into northeastern India.
