Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, the Special Director General (Eastern Command) of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Kolkata, recently completed a comprehensive three-day visit to Tripura to assess the security and operational readiness along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Accompanied by Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier, the Special DG visited several Border Out Posts (BOPs) in Khowai, Dhalai, and Unakoti districts on October 28 and 29. During his visit, Aggarwal meticulously inspected the security measures in place, engaged with officers and jawans deployed in forward areas, and evaluated the challenges faced in managing the border effectively.
In addition to his on-site inspections, Aggarwal presided over a Prahari Sammelan, a gathering where he addressed operational and administrative issues raised by BSF personnel. He commended the professionalism and vigilance of the force, acknowledging their dedication to upholding the integrity of the international border despite the challenging terrain and weather conditions.
In a show of solidarity and appreciation, the Special DG spent a night at a remote BOP and participated in a Prahari Bhoj, a communal meal with the troops, to boost morale and recognize their commitment to serving the nation.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining constant alertness, coordination, and technological advancements, Aggarwal praised the BSF Tripura Frontier for its proactive efforts in enhancing border management and combating cross-border smuggling and infiltration.
After concluding his visit on the evening of October 29, the Special DG returned to Kolkata, confident in the BSF’s capabilities and dedication to safeguarding the nation’s borders.
