News Report:
Agartala, Tripura: Polio vaccination will be administered to children aged between zero and five years across the state as part of a statewide immunisation drive, officials announced on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference held at Maharani Tulsibati School in Agartala, NHM Director Saju Vaheed A informed that the programme will formally begin at 10 AM. He stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and wide coverage of the vaccination drive.
The NHM Director further said that children who are unable to reach vaccination centres will be covered through door-to-door visits. ASHA workers will visit households on December 22 and 23 to administer polio drops to eligible children, ensuring that no child is left out.
Health officials appealed to parents and guardians to cooperate with health workers and actively participate in the drive to keep Tripura polio-free. The initiative is being carried out under the National Health Mission with the aim of strengthening child health and disease prevention.
