The Tinsukia district in Assam has been recognized for its exceptional efforts in achieving holistic development, as it has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration in the category of ‘Holistic Development of Districts’. The award was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 21 at a ceremony in New Delhi.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed pride and congratulated the Tinsukia District Administration for their outstanding achievement. In a social media post, he commended the team for their dedication and hard work, stating that Tinsukia has set a remarkable example for other districts to follow by effectively implementing government policies at both the Central and state levels.
In addition to Tinsukia, the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2024 was also presented to Tripura’s Gomati district in the same category of ‘Holistic Development of Districts’. Both districts were recognized for their exemplary performance in driving comprehensive development initiatives that have positively impacted their communities.
The awards were presented at the Civil Services Day celebration, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of effective public administration in driving progress and development at the grassroots level. The recognition of Tinsukia and Gomati districts serves as a testament to the commitment and dedication of the district administrations in promoting sustainable growth and inclusive development.
