Founder of Tipra Motha, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, is set to lead a high-level delegation of party leaders to meet with the Chief Election Commissioner of India in New Delhi on July 23. This meeting comes as the delegation plans to address a number of pressing concerns related to the electoral process in Tripura.
Sources within the party have indicated that the delegation will specifically call for the implementation of a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state’s electoral roll, similar to the recent exercise carried out in Bihar. This demand is seen as crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the electoral process in Tripura.
The delegation includes prominent members of Tipra Motha and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), such as Animesh Debbarma Minister, Brishaketu Debbarma Minister, Chairman of TTAADC Jagadish Debbarma, CEM of TTAADC Purna Chandra Jamatia, MLAs Ranjit Debbarma, Pathan Lal Jamatia, Philip Kumar Reang, and MDC Sadagar Kalai.
