Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of the Tipra Motha Party, has issued a directive to his party’s MLAs, Members of District Councils, and workers to identify and report illegal immigrants residing in Tripura. This move comes as he believes that illegal immigrants pose a threat to the future of the state.
In a post on Facebook, Pradyot referenced statements made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Supreme Court of India, emphasizing that illegal immigrants have no rights to stay in the country. He highlighted that he has been advocating for this issue for the past decade and even filed a case with the apex court on the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Pradyot expressed concern over the influx of illegal immigrants, particularly from Bangladesh, who are obtaining fraudulent documents such as Voter ID cards and Ration Cards. He warned that these individuals could potentially influence future elections and decision-making processes in the state.
To address this issue, Pradyot has instructed his party members to collaborate with local authorities to identify individuals who are obtaining documents illegally. He stressed the importance of preventing illegal immigrants from gaining voting rights and accessing government benefits meant for genuine Indian citizens.
Pradyot called for unity in combating the issue of illegal immigration and urged for a collective effort to safeguard the rights of indigenous people in Tripura. He emphasized the need to take action to prevent illegal immigrants from manipulating the electoral process and urged for stricter enforcement measures to protect the interests of the local population.
