Founder of the Tipra Motha Party, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, made a bold statement on Monday, declaring that he would not hesitate to approach the Supreme Court if necessary to ensure the Village Council Election is held. His motivation stems from his concern for the suffering of people in the villages due to the delay in conducting the elections.
Pradyot emphasized that there is no explicit rule stating that alliance partners must agree on each other’s matters, indicating that the well-being of the people should take precedence over political alliances. He highlighted the fact that despite directions from the High Court to hold the elections, they have not been carried out, leading to the continued suffering of the villagers.
“If the Election Commission fails to take action, then we must seek justice through the Supreme Court. I cannot stand by and watch my people suffer while waiting for the alliance to reach a consensus,” Pradyot asserted.
In response to recent violent clashes between the BJP and the Tipra Motha Party, Pradyot condemned the use of force to resolve conflicts, stating that dialogue and discussion are essential for peaceful resolutions. He called for unity among all political parties in Tripura to address issues such as illegal immigration and promote the development of the state.
“We must come together as a united front to attract investments and foster development in Tripura. Violence only hinders progress and tarnishes the image of our state. Let us set aside our differences and work towards a brighter future for Tripura,” Pradyot urged.
