The tragic blast in Balochistan province on Sunday has left four people dead and 20 others injured, according to reports. The explosion, which occurred near Jabbar Market in Killa Abdullah district, caused extensive damage to the building and sparked widespread panic among residents.
Several shops collapsed and fires broke out in multiple establishments following the blast, as reported by The Express Tribune newspaper. Killa Abdullah Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan confirmed the casualties and stated that the market was located near the Frontier Corps (FC) Fort.
Shortly after the explosion, there was a brief exchange of gunfire between unidentified assailants and FC personnel. Law enforcement officials swiftly sealed off the area and initiated a thorough search and clearance operation.
Among the injured were a security guard of tribal elder Haji Faizullah Khan Ghabizai and several bystanders. This tragic incident comes on the heels of another deadly attack in the region, where four Levies personnel were killed in a gun attack on a check post in the Nal area of Khuzdar district.
Balochistan has been plagued by unrest for nearly two decades, with local ethnic Baloch groups and parties accusing the federal government of exploiting the province’s mineral resources. The ongoing conflict in the region has resulted in numerous casualties and has hindered efforts to bring about peace and stability.
