Tragic Death of Child Drowning in Pond Casts Shadow of Grief Over Kurati Village
A heart-wrenching incident has left the residents of Deobari 3 Ward in Kurati village under Kadamtala police jurisdiction in shock after a three-year-old child named Jahidul Hossen drowned in the pond of his home. According to the locals, Jahidul was playing in the courtyard of his house in the morning when suddenly, at around 11 am, news spread that his body was found floating in the pond nearby.
Upon discovering the child’s body, the villagers rushed to the pond in a state of panic. Local residents immediately retrieved the body and took it to Kadamtala Social Hospital, where attending physician Dr. Bimal Das pronounced the child dead after initial treatment.
The news of the child’s tragic death spread quickly through the village, leading to an outpouring of grief and sorrow among the family members and neighbors gathered at the hospital. Dr. Bimal Das later reported the incident to the Kadamtala police station, prompting administrative officials to arrive at the scene and initiate an investigation.
Following a thorough investigation, the child’s body was handed over to the family for final rites after post-mortem examination at the hospital. The untimely demise of a young child has cast a pall of mourning over the entire Kurati village, where the community is struggling to come to terms with the tragic loss.
