On June 18, Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Sahar presided over a meeting titled ‘Developed Tripura-2047′ attended by various secretaries of departments and high-ranking officials. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for each department to set specific targets to move forward towards making Tripura a developed state by 2047. He stressed the importance of implementing departmental plans correctly and focusing on the well-being of the people by utilizing expertise.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the importance of applying innovative thinking in the agricultural sector to increase crop production and improve the income of farmers. He emphasized the significant impact that proper utilization of the state’s forest resources could have on the economy. The Chief Minister highlighted various projects aimed at the welfare of the people, including the development of tourism infrastructure, making Queen Anarasha globally renowned, increasing jackfruit production, expanding agar and rubber industries, and boosting agricultural production. He expressed hope that by implementing smart agricultural practices, both crop production and farmers’ income would increase.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to focus on implementing various welfare-oriented projects, advancing healthcare services, ensuring quality education, promoting infrastructure development, enhancing tourism centers, and encouraging industrial investments. He emphasized the importance of transitioning to a paperless office and increasing investment in technology. The Chief Minister also discussed the development of internet services in remote areas of the state.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary of the state, J.K. Sinha, emphasized that the goal of Developed Tripura 2047 requires a collective effort from every department, focusing on a sustainable development approach. He stressed the need for efficient utilization of the state’s resources to have a significant impact on the economy. He highlighted the importance of innovation, modern methods, skill development, and encouraging people to engage in agriculture for the state’s overall development.
The meeting also saw presentations by various department secretaries, including the Chief Secretary of the Forest Department, A.L. Darlong. The heads of the Environment Department, Health Department, Urban Development Department, Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, Education Department, Social Welfare and Social Education Department, and Tourism Department, along with other officials, participated in the discussions.
