In a move to strengthen the state’s financial performance, Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy chaired a key departmental meeting on Saturday to strategize the collection of all types of government revenue by March 2025.
Taking to Facebook, the Finance Minister proudly highlighted that Tripura ranks among the top Indian states in GST collection relative to its population size.
“To further build upon this proud achievement and accelerate the growth of revenue collection through GST, I held an important discussion with concerned officials today. The goal is clear — to ensure the complete collection of all types of revenue within the current financial year,” said Singha Roy.
The meeting involved detailed discussions around:
- Strategies to boost GST collection
- Improving administrative efficiency
- Promoting taxpayer awareness and cooperation
The Finance Minister expressed confidence in the department’s capacity to meet the target, stating, “With the committed efforts of revenue department officials and collaboration from taxpayers, I am certain we will take Tripura’s GST performance to even greater heights.”
This initiative comes at a crucial time as the state works toward improving its fiscal health, transparency, and self-sustainability ahead of the new financial year.
