In a generous move to support government employees and pensioners in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), effective from October 1, 2025, just in time for the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
During the concluding session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Dr. Saha described the hike as a special Durga Puja gift and emphasized the state government’s commitment to the well-being of its employees. The government will allocate an additional Rs 125 crore to implement the raise, which is expected to benefit thousands of individuals across the state.
Dr. Saha also highlighted the government’s track record of prioritizing its employees, noting that a 29% hike had been implemented upon assuming office. Despite financial constraints, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of providing this relief, stating that even a 1% increase costs around Rs 100 crore. This move is aimed at supporting employees during the festive season and easing their financial burdens.
The announcement has been met with widespread appreciation and gratitude from government staff and pensioners in Tripura. The increase in DA and DR will provide much-needed financial relief and bring festive cheer to individuals across the state during this auspicious time of year.
