Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced today that the state’s unemployment rate has dropped significantly to 1.7%. Dr. Saha highlighted the efforts of the current government in providing job opportunities and employment in Tripura.
Speaking at an event where appointment letters were distributed to 228 Under Graduate Teachers (UGT) and Graduate Teachers (GT) in the Education Department, Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency in recruitment. He mentioned that a total of 17,554 people have been provided with government jobs through transparent recruitment policies, with 3,554 people receiving job appointment letters in 2025 alone.
Dr. Saha, who also serves as the Education Minister of Tripura, stated that the government is working diligently to ensure a smooth and transparent recruitment process. He highlighted the completion of the TET II examination and the upcoming TET I examination as part of the government’s efforts to streamline administrative processes.
The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction with the state government’s success in maintaining transparency in job recruitment, stating that Tripura has not faced any challenges in this regard. He also stressed the government’s focus on skill development and vocational education to further enhance employment opportunities in the state.
Dr. Saha noted the significant improvement in Tripura’s unemployment rate, citing a decrease from 10% in 2018-19 to 1.7% in the financial year 2023-24. He commended the efforts of the government in providing employment opportunities and expressed hope for a bright future for those receiving appointment letters.
