Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reiterated the government’s commitment to merit-based recruitment and transparency in government jobs, as he addressed a gathering at the offer distribution and mega blood donation program for food inspectors selected through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala.
Saha emphasized that since coming to power, his government has been providing jobs through a transparent process, following government guidelines and proper procedures. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that government jobs are awarded based on merit and skill, rather than influence or political connections.
“We want government jobs to be given to our children based on merit and skill, following a transparent and proper procedure. This will ensure quality work and be beneficial for public welfare,” Saha said.
The Chief Minister also addressed concerns raised by the opposition party, stating that during their 35 years of rule, job offers were often distributed through party offices or influential leaders. In contrast, the current government is issuing appointment letters publicly, ensuring transparency in the recruitment process.
Saha also shared that a total of 19,262 individuals, including beneficiaries of the die-in-harness scheme, have been appointed in various departments under the government’s initiatives.
In addition to job creation, Saha highlighted the government’s efforts to support farmers by purchasing paddy at Minimum Support Price (MSP). He shared that approximately 2.25 lakh metric tons of paddy have been purchased since 2018, amounting to Rs 446 crore being directly credited to the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers.
The Tripura Chief Minister’s emphasis on merit-based recruitment, transparency in government jobs, and support for farmer welfare reflects the government’s commitment to good governance and public welfare.
