Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made a significant announcement on Sunday as he laid the foundation stone for the 51 Shakti Peetha Park in Banduar, Udaipur. This park, set to be developed near the revered Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in the Gomati district, is expected to become a key spiritual and cultural tourism destination in the region.
The project, with an estimated cost of Rs. 97.70 crore, aims to showcase replicas of all 51 Shakti Peethas, including unique attractions such as the world’s largest Nataraj statue and Tripura’s first-ever glass skywalk bridge. With the goal of completing the park within the next 15 months, the development is poised to elevate Tripura as a premier tourist destination.
In addition to inaugurating the park, Chief Minister Dr. Saha also unveiled the new logo for Tripura Tourism during the ceremony. This move highlights the state’s commitment to promoting its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty on a global scale.
During his speech at the event, Dr. Saha emphasized the park’s role in honoring the spiritual significance of the Shakti Peethas and aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of establishing world-class tourist destinations in every state. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, and other senior government officials.
The 51 Shakti Peetha Park is expected to not only boost religious tourism in Tripura but also create local employment opportunities and place the state firmly on the national and international tourism map. This ambitious project signifies a major step forward in showcasing Tripura’s unique cultural offerings to visitors from around the world.
