The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, recently announced that the state government is placing a special emphasis on bolstering the tourism sector while also promoting peace and harmony through cultural initiatives. This statement was made during the inauguration of the Unity Promo Fest 2025 and Shishu Udyan at Narkelkunja in Dumboor, Dhalai district.
Saha emphasized that the Unity Promo Fest is not just a cultural event, but a message of peace, harmony, and unity for the people of Tripura. This year marks the second edition of the festival, which has been extended from one to two days due to popular demand. The Chief Minister praised the Tourism Department for their decision to extend the event, stating that such festivals showcase the spirit of togetherness among the people of Tripura.
Highlighting the cultural diversity of the state, Saha mentioned that Tripura is home to around 19 ethnic groups and communities living together in harmony. He stressed the importance of promoting local tourism and employment opportunities through major events organized in six locations across Tripura. Saha urged the people of Tripura to explore their own state and contribute to its economic prosperity.
The event was attended by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, along with several dignitaries including MLAs Ranjit Das, Nandita Riang, and Sanjay Manik Tripura. Senior officials such as Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, District Magistrate Vivek HB, and Superintendent of Police Mihir Lal Das were also present at the event.
The Unity Promo Fest, organized by the Tourism Department, aims to showcase Tripura’s cultural heritage and position the state as a growing tourism destination in the Northeast region. With a focus on promoting peace, harmony, and unity, the festival serves as a platform to celebrate the diverse cultural fabric of Tripura.
