Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has taken swift action in response to allegations made by Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma. Pradyot claimed that Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma refused to meet him despite repeated attempts, prompting the Chief Minister to order a probe into the matter.
The inquiry, aimed at ensuring transparency and proper communication within the administration, was initiated after Saha returned to the state from Delhi. A senior official from the Chief Minister’s Office confirmed that the directive to investigate the allegations was given by Saha himself.
The controversy began when Pradyot, in a statement to the press, revealed that he had been trying to meet with Chakma for over a month regarding some official work in Gomati District. Despite his efforts to reach out, Chakma allegedly did not respond to his calls or requests for a meeting.
Pradyot’s claims have drawn attention due to the political sensitivity in the region, particularly in relation to tribal rights and administrative accountability. His public statements have increased pressure on the state administration to address concerns about accessibility and transparency in governance.
The Chief Minister’s decision to launch an inquiry into the matter reflects his commitment to upholding the principles of good governance and addressing any lapses in communication and accessibility within the administration. The findings of the investigation will be crucial in determining the appropriate course of action to ensure accountability and transparency in government operations.
