Following the tragic death of Trisha Majumder, a student of Sonarpur Class XII School in Barpathari, Belonia, the Directorate of Secondary Education in Tripura has taken swift action to investigate the circumstances leading to her alleged suicide. Acting under the guidance of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, a three-member committee has been formed to look into the matter.
The committee, consisting of Lisa Bardhan, Joint Director of Elementary Education; Kajal Kumar Bhowmik, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Directorate of Secondary Education; and Sudip Sarkar, OSD at the Office of the District Education Officer, West, has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
Preliminary reports suggest that Trisha may have taken her own life after facing harsh criticism from a teacher at the school. However, officials have stressed the importance of conducting a comprehensive inquiry to uncover the full details surrounding the tragedy.
The committee has been given a deadline to examine all aspects of the case and submit their findings by Wednesday. The Education Department is committed to ensuring justice for Trisha and her family, and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
