Tripura’s government is exploring the introduction of seaplane services to boost tourism, particularly in the state’s aquatic destinations, according to Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
The minister recently held a high-level video conference with a private airline company to assess the feasibility of operating seaplanes in Tripura’s aquatic tourist areas.
Minister Chowdhury stated that seaplanes would offer international tourists a faster and more convenient way to reach destinations such as Narikel Kunja and Chabimura.
He emphasized the potential of seaplane tourism, describing it as “an attractive and new form of tourism nowadays” that could create new opportunities for the state’s large water bodies. The minister added that this initiative would not only provide unique experiences for tourists but also contribute to the improvement of the local economy.
