The Tripura Journalists Union organised a protest programme by wearing black badges in front of the Agartala Press Club, condemning recent violent incidents in Bangladesh.
The protest highlighted concerns over attacks on minority families, journalists, and their family members amid the ongoing violence. Terming the incidents as deeply alarming, members of the journalists’ body demanded immediate steps to ensure the safety of journalists and vulnerable communities.
Present at the protest were Sajjad Ali, President of the Tripura Journalists Union; Pranab Sarkar, Executive President; Vice President Surajit Pal; Chitra Roy; along with other members of the union.
The demonstrators expressed solidarity with victims of violence and urged the international community to take note of the situation, while reaffirming their commitment to press freedom and human rights.
