Tripura Leader of Opposition and CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury has launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, labeling them as cowards. Chaudhury made these remarks during a visit to a CPIM local committee party office in the Pratapgarh area of Agartala city, which was reportedly vandalized by BJP-backed miscreants using a bulldozer.
Describing the incident, Chaudhury stated, “They used a bulldozer and vandalized it. It was around 2 pm when they vandalized the office. It was a preplanned attack on our office. The barbarism of RSS and BJP in Tripura has reached its peak.” He accused the BJP government in Tripura of coming to power through false promises and of looting the people for the past seven years.
Chaudhury also criticized the BJP for lacking the courage to confront their opponents openly. “They are cowards and they don’t have the courage to come in broad daylight, and that is why they came in the middle of the night and vandalized the office,” he said. The CPIM leader vowed to continue protesting against the BJP and stated that their movement would persist until the saffron party is ousted from power.
He further added, “This is what is known as good governance and development. This is the example of development. They are killing democracy each and every day.” Chaudhury affirmed that the CPIM would not be intimidated by such cowardly tactics and that they would seek justice through legal means.
The incident has sparked outrage among CPIM supporters in Tripura, with many calling for swift action against those responsible for the vandalism. The CPIM has announced plans to file a complaint with the police and provide all necessary evidence to hold the perpetrators accountable.
As tensions escalate between the CPIM and BJP in Tripura, the political landscape in the state remains volatile. The CPIM’s determination to challenge the ruling party’s authority signals a potential escalation in political unrest in the region.
