Agartala witnessed a significant endorsement of the Tripura state budget for the financial year 2025-26, as Tripura Pradesh Mahila Morcha President and former MLA Mimi Majumder praised its potential to drive economic growth and overall development. Speaking at an organizational meeting held by the 35 Belonia Mondal at Agniveena Community Hall, Belonia College, Majumder highlighted the budget’s progressive nature and its commitment to the state’s advancement.
Majumder emphasized the substantial increase in the budget allocation compared to previous years, particularly during the CPI-M era. She noted that while the 2024-25 budget was Rs 27,804.67 crore, the new budget stands at Rs 32,423.44 crore, representing a nearly 20% increase. This, she argued, demonstrates the current government’s dedication to fostering development in Tripura.
Furthermore, Majumder lauded the Modi-led government’s focus on women’s empowerment across all sectors. She pointed out the growing role of women in India’s security and defense architecture, stressing the government’s aim to create an environment where women feel safe and secure to pursue their aspirations. The meeting, attended by all members of the 35 Belonia Mondal, served as a platform to discuss the budget’s implications and strategies for its effective implementation.
