Aritra Roy, a mountaineer from Tripura, has made history by becoming the first individual from his state to conquer Mount Everest on May 19, 2025. This remarkable achievement was made possible with the support and guidance of the Assam Rifles, showcasing the power of determination and collaboration in achieving monumental goals.
Starting his journey with a 1,400-kilometer cycling expedition from Agartala to Phaplu, Nepal, Roy displayed not only physical endurance but also promoted environmental sustainability through eco-friendly transportation. The Assam Rifles played a crucial role in providing logistical support during this phase, ensuring a smooth journey through challenging terrains.
As a member of the Agartala Adventure Club, Roy had previously conquered Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Elbrus before setting his sights on Everest.
