The recent blockade in Tripura’s Khowai Belfang area, centered around demands related to the local school, has been lifted. District Education Officer (DEO) Dinesh Debbarma addressed the media at approximately 2 PM to provide clarity on the situation and the resolution that was reached.
According to DEO Debbarma, the demands put forth by the protestors were primarily state-level issues, falling outside the purview of the district administration. He emphasized that these matters required attention and action from the state government.
To address the situation and facilitate a resolution, the authorities have committed to taking up the entire set of demands with the state government. DEO Debbarma informed journalists that the state government has been given until the 10th of the current month to respond to these demands.
The blockade, which had disrupted normal activities in the Belfang area, was called off following assurances from the district administration that the concerns would be escalated to the appropriate level. The community is now awaiting the state government’s response and subsequent action on the issues raised.
