In a proud moment for the state’s vocational and technical community, the Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, Smt. Santana Chakma, inaugurated a grand felicitation ceremony today to honor the achievers of the State and Regional Level India Skills Competitions 2025-26.
The event was held at 11:30 AM at the Smart Training Centre, IT Bhavan in Indranagar, Agartala, celebrating the remarkable talent that has placed Tripura and Assam on the national skills map.
A Record-Breaking Performance
The Minister highlighted the impressive feat achieved by the regional contingent. A total of 28 competitors participated across 16 diverse trades, showcasing high-level technical expertise.
Minister’s Address: Skills as the New Currency
During her keynote address, Smt. Santana Chakma emphasized that the state government is prioritizing skill development to make the youth “Atmanirbhar” (self-reliant).
”Our youth are proving that they are second to none in technical prowess. These medals are a testament to the rigorous training provided at our ITIs and polytechnics. Winning two gold medals at a regional level is no small feat—it shows that Tripura is ready for the global industrial stage,” the Minister said.
She personally handed over certificates and cash prizes to the winners, encouraging them to aim for the national and international WorldSkills competitions.
The Venue: IT Bhavan’s Role in Modern Training
The Smart Training Centre at IT Bhavan served as the perfect backdrop for the event. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to train students in emerging sectors like robotics, digital fashion, and cloud computing.

The ceremony saw the presence of senior officials from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, representatives from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and proud family members of the winners. The atmosphere was one of immense pride as the young achievers shared their journey of preparation and competition.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from the Department, reaffirming the state’s commitment to creating more “Skill Hubs” across all eight districts of Tripura.
