Tripura’s Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, marked a milestone in the state’s sports infrastructure on Sunday by inaugurating a state-of-the-art synthetic turf football ground near the Ganganagar English Medium School in Agartala. The Rs. 2.5 crore facility is aimed at providing advanced training facilities for aspiring athletes in Tripura.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Tinku Roy, as well as other dignitaries and residents. Dr. Saha emphasised the government’s dedication to promoting sports and physical fitness among the youth, stating that the new facility will not only boost the confidence of young footballers but also provide them with a professional training environment to help them excel in competitions.
The synthetic turf ground is part of a larger initiative by the state government to establish top-notch sports facilities across Tripura. Several such grounds are currently in development to support the state’s emerging talent and encourage greater participation in sports.
Residents and sports enthusiasts have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the modern infrastructure will inspire more young people to take sports seriously. The move underscores the state government’s vision of cultivating a healthier and more active generation capable of excelling in national and international sporting events.
