The Tripura State Computer Limited (TSCL) employees’ association held a vital State Convention today at the Agartala Press Club, voicing their deep frustration over long-pending financial dues. The members issued a stern ultimatum to the state government, warning of a complete work strike and large-scale agitation if their outstanding arrears are not cleared by March 31, 2026.
The convention saw participation from computer professionals and staff from across the state, all of whom expressed grievances regarding the delay in salary adjustments and other contractual benefits.
Key Demands and Resolutions
During the meeting, the leadership of the TSCL association highlighted that despite multiple deputations and reminders, the concerned authorities have remained indifferent to their financial hardships.
- Payment of Arrears: The primary demand is the immediate release of all pending arrears and revised pay scales as promised in earlier agreements.
- March 31 Deadline: The association formally resolved that March 31 would be the final cut-off date. Failure to comply will lead to a “Cease Work” (Karmabirodhi) strike across all TSCL offices in Tripura.
- Job Security: The employees also raised concerns about job regularisation and the need for a transparent policy regarding their service conditions.
Protest Roadmap
Addressing the media at the Press Club, the association spokespersons stated that the employees have been working tirelessly to maintain the state’s digital infrastructure, but their own financial security is at stake.
”We do not wish to disrupt public services, but we have been pushed to the wall. If our dues are not cleared by the end of this financial year, we will have no choice but to launch a state-wide movement and halt all official duties from April 1,” a representative stated.
The convention concluded with the formation of a coordination committee to oversee the next phase of the movement if the government fails to act. The threat of a strike has raised concerns about the potential impact on government digital services and ICT projects currently operational in the state.
