News Report:
Agartala, Tripura: Student and youth organisations Tripura Students’ Federation (TSF) and Tripura Indigenous Students’ Society (TISS) jointly organised an important press conference highlighting concerns related to the Roman script issue.
Addressing the media, leaders of both organisations described the Roman script matter as closely linked to identity, education, and cultural rights. They stressed that any decision or policy related to language and script must be taken after wide consultation with indigenous communities, students, and linguistic experts.
Speakers pointed out that the issue is not merely academic but deeply connected to cultural preservation and inclusivity. They urged the authorities to approach the matter sensitively and ensure that students’ interests and indigenous sentiments are respected.
The press conference concluded with a call for constructive dialogue and democratic discussion, warning against unilateral decisions on matters that affect the cultural and educational future of indigenous students in Tripura.
