Two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the 42nd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) from the border area of Jaipur on charges of illegally entering Indian territory. The arrested persons have been identified as Jahangir Miah and Hriday Sarkar, both residents of Brahmanbaria district in Bangladesh.According to sources, the BSF acted on specific intelligence inputs indicating that the duo had crossed the international border illegally. Following their detention, the BSF, in coordination with the Tripura Police, initiated a joint interrogation to ascertain further details regarding their entry and possible links.Confirming the development, Officer-in-Charge of West Police Station, Rana Chatterjee, said that legal procedures are being followed and the two accused will be produced before the court on Friday. He added that security agencies remain on high alert to prevent illegal infiltration along the international border.Meanwhile, intensified surveillance and patrolling have been stepped up in the border areas to ensure strict vigilance and maintain security.
