President Trump recently spoke with PM Modi over the phone, condemning the attack and promising full support to bring the perpetrators to justice. In response, PM Modi vowed to pursue the terrorists and their supporters, alluding to Pakistan, which has a history of sponsoring terror attacks in India.
PM Modi also granted the Indian armed forces complete freedom to decide on the nation’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Meanwhile, tensions escalated as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held a closed-door meeting at Pakistan’s request. Despite Pakistan’s attempt to push a false narrative, the UNSC members questioned their involvement in the attack and refused to accept their claims.
Sources suggest that the UNSC members raised concerns about the potential involvement of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Pahalgam attack. India has accused Pakistan of exploiting its temporary position on the Security Council to push their agenda.
