News Report:
Agartala, Tripura: In the wake of protests at the Indian Visa Office in Bangladesh and alleged statements claiming Bangladesh would take over India’s Seven Sister states, the YTF organisation of the Tipra Motha party staged a road blockade and protest in Agartala on Wednesday.
The protest was held near the Circuit House area of the city, where demonstrators raised slogans expressing concern over national security and regional sovereignty. The protesters demanded strong action and clear assurances from the authorities in response to the developments.
Following the demonstration, Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak addressed the media and stated that adequate security arrangements have been put in place across the city. He assured that the situation is under control and that police are closely monitoring all sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
Traffic movement in the Circuit House vicinity was temporarily affected due to the blockade, though no untoward incident was reported. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to prevent any escalation and to ensure public safety.
Authorities urged citizens to maintain peace and cooperation, while reiterating that necessary steps have been taken from a security perspective.
