Starting August 15, private vehicle owners in India will have the option to purchase a FASTag-based Annual Pass for Rs 3,000. This groundbreaking initiative by the Government of India is aimed at simplifying highway travel and revolutionizing toll collection on National Highways.
The Annual Pass, exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans, will offer a seamless tolling experience for commuters. Valid for one year or up to 200 trips, the pass promises to eliminate disputes and provide a cost-effective solution for toll payments.
One of the main objectives of the Annual Pass is to address public concerns regarding toll plazas located within a 60 km stretch. By offering a convenient and affordable option for regular highway travelers, the government hopes to reduce wait times and ease traffic congestion at toll plazas.
To facilitate the activation and renewal of the Annual Pass, a dedicated portal will soon be launched on the Rajmarg Yatra App and on the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH. This new system of toll collection is expected to benefit millions of commuters across the country by streamlining the payment process and ensuring a hassle-free journey on National Highways.
Overall, the introduction of the FASTag-based Annual Pass for private vehicles is a significant step towards enhancing the road travel experience in India and promoting a more efficient and sustainable transportation system.
