Despite repeated complaints from residents over the past several months about the dangerous condition of the electric pole, no action had been taken by the electricity department. It was only after the accident that officials finally arrived on the scene this morning to begin repair work.
Local residents expressed their frustration, stating that the mishap could have been avoided if the department had addressed their concerns earlier. “We’ve been warning about the pole for a long time. This could have turned into a major disaster,” said one resident.
