Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha launched the Navdisha Abhiyan on Saturday, a campaign aimed at uplifting poor and marginalized families in the state. Speaking at the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh at Pragya Bhavan, Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to holistic development in backward block areas and inclusive growth across communities.
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s goal is to ensure essential services and opportunities are extended to every section of society, with a vision for 100% completion and saturation of schemes as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As part of the initiative, funds have been allocated to establish 80 Integrated Farming Clusters to bring families outside the self-help group ecosystem into livelihood and income-generating activities.
Currently, Tripura has 1.08 lakh SHGs with nearly 5 lakh women involved in groups under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. Dr. Saha mentioned that many families are excluded from SHG benefits due to various reasons, and Navdisha aims to bridge that gap for sustainable development.
The CM highlighted the TRIPTI project focusing on 4,000 poor families in Ganganagar and Dashda blocks, along with the Mukhyamantri Navdisha Campaign uplifting 10,000 families across 16 blocks. The state’s performance under the Sampoornata Abhiyan was praised by NITI Aayog officials during a recent visit, with the Rural Development Department effectively working on key indicators.
Dr. Saha also announced an increase in the monthly honorarium for Samajpatis from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000, emphasizing efforts towards tribal welfare and integration. He stated that the government is prioritizing the integration of castes and tribes, focusing on dignity, representation, and recognition alongside infrastructure and livelihood development.
In conclusion, Dr. Saha reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive development and robust monitoring to ensure effective scheme implementation at the grassroots level.
